Smoothie Recipes

So, I am on a month and a half (roughly) of drinking a smoothie for lunch and dinner and greens and eggs with cultured veggies, or a salad with hemp tofu (or some similar variation) for lunch.  So, I have been staying away from carbs and sugars... I thought I was fairly well "cleansed" as my diet was already fairly strict having been on some approximation of the "body ecology diet" for a few years.

Well, beginning on this smoothie journey has introduced new layers of cleansing and detox, and I feel that it has also been encouraging good bacteria to grow. I have definitely felt positive changes..

How do I know I have been cleansing?

I have experienced mood shifts, anxiety and depression during cleansing phases ....and then clarity, joy just plain "feeling good" in the post cleanse phases. I have also had skin rashes and some sinus issues that I associate with this process, from my previous experiences. I have observed these things cycle progressively this time around and I also have some level of awareness about my perception of what is going on in my body based on cleansing in previous years.

I also feel this cleansing is giving the good bacteria room to grow. Why do I think this?

As the mood shifts have evened out, I have been experiencing more spontaneously "happy" feelings.  Feelings of euphoria or being "high", but with clarity (yes, just like Cannabis or Marijuana) as well as feelings of calm and clarity. I attribute the "high" feelings to increased GABA, serotonin and endo-cannabinoid levels. This has also helped with making meditation and finding mental stillness much easier. I feel this is probably due to the good bacteria having the fuel and space to grow as the bad bacteria is cleansed. Of course, this could also be due to getting more nutrients or some level of detox as well.

However, because I recently read that the bacteria in our gut can produce these positive feelings then I tend toward that explanation. Also, consuming probiotic drinks can also give these general feelings in the short term, right after consuming them. So, that's another factor in my guess.

Anyway, I wanted to share my smoothie recipes here, in case anyone would like to try them. I'll list the ingredients first and then some variations. I pretty much change the ingredients a little each day depending in what I'm in the mood for.

Ingredient List:

VEGA Protein powder - no sugars..and also has papaya enzyme which will help with cleansing and digestion

Papaya enzyme powder (by itself): This stuff is powerful, and I can tell is really doing a job cleansing out my entire digestive system.

I also have been using pumpkin seed powder which is high in protein and tryptophan and will help boost serotonin levels and mood.

Food Grade Diatomaceous earth - help kill parasites in the gut
The Diatomaceous Earth I use also has high concentrations of Humic and Fulvic Acid, which are also excellent for fighting Candida and can increase enzyme activity.

Frozen Kale or Spinach -- about a cup worth (I use the whole foods brands, as they seem to blend better) I tried another brand, but because of the cut of the leaves it didn't blend as well.

Frozen pineapple chunks (these have good enzymes... but I don't do too many as I want to avoid sugars..usually just a couple)

Unsweetened Coconut Milk

Chia Seeds - A few tablespoons

Psyllium Fiber -  just a little bit

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Stevia for sweetener
(KAL brand is the sweetest I've tried, so I don't have to use very much.)

Kevita Probiotic Soda: I usually use either the plain coconut, or lemon-lime mint mojito. The lemon lime mint adds a really nice kick to the flavors.

These smoothies are:
Enyzmatic +  Probiotic + Anti-fungal + Anti-parasitic + tasty

Smoothie variation possibility #1

This is the basic recipe for me..  I start with about a cup of greens and 3 pineapple chunks, and add a cup or so of unsweetened coconut milk.

Blend till the greens are totally smooth.

Then I add:

1 scoop Vega Mango Tango protein powder
1 scoop or tablespoon diatomaceous earth
1 teaspoon coconut oil
3 heaping tablespoons of pumpkin seed powder
1 tablespoon of hemp and or Chia seeds
1 teaspoon of Psyllium fiber
1 quarter teaspoon of Papaya enyme powder
a few dashes of KAL brand Stevia

Top off the liquid with some Lime Mint Mojito Kevita

Blend again. Enjoy!

There can obviously be lot's of variations to this recipe, so mix it up and have fun.

Sometimes I:

Add homemade Kombucha or Kefir
Add a few frozen blackberries or raspberries.
Add another flavor of Kevita
Sometimes I mix in ChlorOxygen  ..or
"Bikram Balance" powder.

Just a personal note: There is nothing new under the sun. I am just attempting to present info. here that has helped me. I hope to present it in a clear way based on my experience with anxiety which was a spiritual, psychological and emotional awakening for me. In retrospect of this experience I have been reading as much as I could to come to a deeper and more grounded understanding of this seemingly mystical thing that happened to me (so that I could share it with you). I'm not a doctor or a scientist. Please know this is only my experience. Yours will obviously be different, but since my experience was so similar to others I've talked to, I am hoping this may be helpful or useful to you in some way. It's also a way that I hope to share the love with you. That is my purpose here.
